Karl Marginson


Karl ‘Margy’ Marginson is a 53-year old football coach serving as the Manager of Trafford Football Club since . He has previously been associated with Ashton United, Curzon Ashton, FC United of Manchester, Macclesfield, Radcliffe and Stalybridge Celtic during his career.

Karl Marginson’s management career is highlighted by a 12-year stint at FC United of Manchester, starting from the club’s inception in 2005. He led FC United from the North West Counties Division 2 to the National League North, securing three league titles and a fourth promotion via playoffs. His tenure at FC United also included two North West Counties League Cup victories and a Manchester Premier Cup win, concluding in October 2017.

Marginson’s football journey began in the Football League with Blackpool, Rotherham, and Macclesfield, followed by a prolonged career in non-league football, playing for clubs like Ashton United, Stalybridge Celtic, and Salford City. He transitioned to management at the age of 35 with FC United.
