Macclesfield Football Club, nicknamed “The Silkmen,” is a non-league football club based in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Established in 2020, they currently compete in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division, which is part of the seventh tier of English football. The team calls Moss Rose their home ground.

Macclesfield FC was reestablished in 2020 by Robert Smethurst and Robbie Savage, following its original formation in 1874. Since its rebirth, the club has received over £4 million in investment. In April 2022, Macclesfield FC won the North West Counties Football League Premier Division by a fifteen-point lead.

The club’s journey was featured in a BBC documentary that gained over three million views.

Following this, in the 2022/23 season, they secured the Northern Premier League West Division title, again with a significant lead of fourteen points. This achievement ensures their participation in the Northern Premier League Premier Division for the 2023/24 season, placing them in the third tier of non-league football.
