Biography
Appointed as Altrincham’s manager in April 2017, Phil Parkinson led the team from the Northern Premier League to the National League. Previously, he transformed Nantwich Town from relegation candidates to promotion contenders, including a 2016 FA Trophy semi-final appearance. As a player, he made significant contributions at Nantwich, leading them to FA Vase victory and league promotions.
At Altrincham, Parkinson achieved immediate success, winning promotion as NPL champions in his first season and guiding the team to the National League through play-offs in 2020. His contract was extended in April 2021 until the end of the 2023-24 season, and following a successful 2023/24 campaign, including a semi-final run in the FA Trophy, his contract was further extended with assistant Neil Sorvel until the end of the 2024-25 season.
