Michael ‘Ello’ Ellison is a football coach serving as the Manager of Widnes Football Club.
He has previously been associated with City of Liverpool and Runcorn Linnets during his career.
Biography
Ello took over as the manager of Widnes in September 2022, bringing with him a notable track record from his time in the Northern Premier League. Despite having only six seasons of managerial experience, he had already overseen more than 100 games in the league.
Ello’s managerial career began in 2016 with Runcorn Linnets, a team he had previously played for in 200 games. His tenure at Linnets was marked by success, culminating in a promotion to the Northern Premier League (NPL) in 2018. Notably, this promotion was achieved with Runcorn Linnets finishing just ahead of Widnes in the standings. Following this achievement, Ello went on to manage City of Liverpool from 2020 to 2022, before his appointment at Widnes.
