Biography
Mark Beard has been appointed as the Manager of Eastbourne Borough. He brings over 30 years of experience in football, both as a player and coach. Beard previously worked as the Head Coach at Dorking Wanderers, where he led the team to the National League for the first time in 2022.
Prior to that, he managed Brighton & Hove Albion’s Under-18s, developing a training program that produced several top talents, including full international and Premier League players.
Beard’s playing career spanned 15 years with 370 appearances for clubs including Millwall and Sheffield United. Known for his forward-thinking coaching approach, he has worked under renowned figures like Dan Ashworth and Graham Potter. In his new role at Eastbourne Borough, Beard aims to use his experience and tactical expertise to lead the team towards success in the National League South.
He is supported by a team including Jamie Strong as Assistant Manager and Niall Clark as Head of Performance Medicine and Sports Science.
