James Fry


James ‘Jimmy’ Fry is a football coach serving as the First-team manager of Alvechurch Football Club.

He has previously been associated with Leamington, Tamworth, Bromsgrove Sporting and Rugby Town during his career.

He is the holder of a UEFA A Licence.


James Fry took over as Alvechurch’s first-team manager, stepping into coaching after a playing career across multiple clubs and focusing on youth development at Birmingham City Academy. His appointment aligns with the club’s emphasis on nurturing young talent within a hybrid training model. Fry aims to leverage this model to enhance player development and on-pitch results, capitalizing on Alvechurch’s tradition of advancing players’ careers.

Fry’s managerial debut came with a supportive backroom staff, including Steve Hensel as first-team coach and Richard Batchelor in a dual coach-player role. His initial challenge was leading the team against Long Eaton United, signaling the start of his commitment to Alvechurch’s growth and success in football management, highlighting his transition from player to coach in the context of fostering emerging talent.
