Peter Adeniyi is a football coach serving as the Manager of Carshalton Athletic Football Club.
He has previously been associated with Dulwich Hamlet and Bromley during his career.
Biography
Peter Adeniyi is the manager of Carshalton Athletic, resuming his role at the club’s Colston Avenue grounds. His initial tenure as manager spanned five successful years from 2017 to 2022, during which he led the team to one promotion and three playoff finishes. Although the team reached the playoff semi-finals once, their efforts were twice cut short due to the seasons being terminated by the COVID pandemic.
Adeniyi’s career in football began at Bromley in 2006, followed by stints at Eastleigh and a five-year period at Dulwich Hamlet, where he served as both player and coach. He joined Carshalton Athletic in 2015 as a player and was appointed player-manager a season later. In his first season in this dual role, the team narrowly missed the playoffs in the Isthmian South. The following season, he led the team to win the Isthmian South title, moving up to the Isthmian Premier division.
His first season in the premier division was also successful, with the team only losing out on promotion in the playoff semi-final. The 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons were both curtailed with the team in strong playoff positions. After finishing 12th in the 2021/22 season, Adeniyi stepped down to become the Director of Football, a role he held while leading the football program at the Carshalton Athletic Football Academy.
