Paul Wotton, a notable figure in English football, especially for his hometown team Plymouth Argyle, distinguished himself as the club’s most successful captain. By 2008, he had made an impressive mark, ranking among the top ten for all-time appearances at Argyle. His career then took him to Southampton for three seasons, after which he returned to Plymouth Argyle. In the latter part of his playing career at Argyle, he transitioned into a player-coach role at the end of the 2013/14 season and officially retired from playing in the following year.

Wotton was well-known for his leadership skills on the field, coupled with a powerful shot. His versatility was evident as he played both as a centre half and in defensive midfield. He became closely associated with the number 15 shirt, a number that he initially didn’t choose but which became emblematic of his career. In July 2019, Paul Wotton took on a new challenge, stepping into the role of Truro City manager, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his football journey.
