Biography

Mark Jones was appointed as the manager of Banbury United in June 2023. His coaching career took a significant step forward when he joined Oxford City in the 2014/15 season, initially in a coaching role. Demonstrating his adeptness in this capacity, he was promoted to the position of first team manager at Oxford City in December 2016, a role he maintained until October 2019.

Jones continued his managerial journey with a 15-month tenure at Hemel Hempstead Town in the National League South, concluding his time there in December 2022.

Prior to his coaching career, Jones was a midfielder, playing for clubs such as Aylesbury United, Thame United, Harrow Borough, and Oxford City. His experience on the field complements his coaching qualifications, notably holding a UEFA “A” coaching license. This blend of practical playing experience and formal coaching education has equipped Jones with a comprehensive understanding of the game, beneficial for his role at Banbury United.
