James ‘Jeppo’ Jepson is a 41-year old football coach serving as the First Team Manager of Basford United Football Club.

He has previously been associated with King's Lynn Town, AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Kettering Town, Gresley Rovers, Worksop Town, Slough Town, Rugby Town, Eastwood CFC, Retford United and Ilkeston Town during his career.

Biography

James Jepson, recently appointed as the new first team manager following the chairmanship of Rudy Funk, brings a wealth of experience and local connection to the role. Aged 42, Jepson previously served as assistant manager at Ilkeston Town and has managerial experience with Eastwood CFC and Rugby Town, along with a stint as the assistant at Retford United.

Jepson’s football journey began in the youth ranks of Notts County, and he established himself as a fan favorite at clubs like Gresley Rovers and Kettering Town. His playing career was extensive, featuring for several other clubs including Kings Lynn Town, AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Worksop Town, Slough Town, and even Sorrento FC in Australia.

Raised in Nottingham, Jepson is seen as an ideal choice to guide the first team, especially with the current aim to improve the club’s standing in the Northern Premier League (Premier) table. Adding to his deep roots in the club is the legacy of his father, Paul Jepson, who not only managed United in the 90s but also triumphed in the 87-88 Nottinghamshire Senior Cup as a player with the club.
