Coalville Town Football Club, nicknamed “The Ravens,” is a non-league football club based in Coalville, Leicestershire.
Established in 1970, they currently compete in the Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Central, which is part of the seventh tier of English football. The team calls Owen Street Sports Ground their home ground.
History
Coalville Town Football Club, originally known as Ravenstone Miners Athletic, was established in 1926, finding early success in local leagues and achieving notable victories, including multiple Division One titles and the Coalville & District Charity Cup. Transitioning to the North Leicestershire League in 1975 after their original league dissolved, they continued to excel, eventually joining the Leicestershire Senior League in 1991. The move to Owen Street in 1995 marked a new chapter, with the team adapting to significant changes and setting the groundwork for future successes.
Under the management of Lee Harriman starting in 2001, Coalville Town experienced its most triumphant period, clinching back-to-back Senior League titles and ascending to the Midland Football Alliance. Their remarkable journey in the FA Cup during the 2004/05 season, reaching the first round proper, epitomized the club’s growing stature. Success continued under manager Adam Stevens, who led the team to numerous high finishes in the league standings and a memorable appearance at Wembley in the FA Vase final.
