History

Spennymoor Town FC was formed in 2005 following the demise of both UniBond Premier Division club Spennymoor United AFC and Northern League Second Division club Evenwood Town FC.

The original club was founded in 1904 and achieved success in the Northern League, North Eastern League, FA Cup, FA Trophy, and various other competitions.

In 2005, the club could not fulfil its fixtures and was removed from the UniBond League.

An independent group of supporters formed a trust and allowed the Evenwood proposal to proceed, resulting in the creation of Spennymoor Town FC Ltd.

The club plays in the colours of its predecessor, Black & White stripes, in the ANL Division 2.
