The Ivies

Ivybridge Town Football Club, nicknamed “The Ivies,” is a non-league football club based in Ivybridge, Devon.

Established in 1925, they currently compete in the Jewson Western League Premier Division, which is part of the ninth tier of English football. The team calls Erme Valley their home ground.

The club began competing in the Plymouth & District League during the 1920s, later becoming part of the Plymouth & District Combination following a league merger. They remained in local competitions for much of the 20th century before stepping up to county-level football in the early 1990s as founder members of the Devon County League.

After struggling in the new competition during the mid-1990s, results improved and the early 2000s brought a period of success. The side finished runners-up in consecutive seasons, collected the league’s Charity Cup, and went on to secure back-to-back Devon Premier Cup triumphs. In 2005–06 they also won the Devon County League title, their first major league honour.

In 2007 the club became part of the newly formed South West Peninsula League, entering its Premier Division. A further restructuring in 2019 placed them in the Premier Division East, where they remained until 2024. That season they won the division and earned promotion to the Western League Premier Division.
