The Foxes

Brislington Football Club, nicknamed “The Foxes,” is a non-league football club based in Brislington, Bristol.

Established in 1956, they currently compete in the Jewson Western League Premier Division, which is part of the ninth tier of English football. The team calls Ironmould Way their home ground.

Reformed in 1956 as an under-16 side in the Bristol Church of England League; won the Somerset Intermediate Cup in 1961–62 and 1962–63, and the Somerset Junior Cup in 1963–64. Reached the Somerset FA Senior Cup final in 1966–67, losing 3–1 to Chard Town.

Entered the Somerset County League in the 1970s, winning the League Cup in 1976–77. Took the Premier Division and Somerset Senior Cup in 1988–89; after runners-up and another Senior Cup in 1990–91, promoted to Western League Division One. Won the Senior Cup in 1992–93, then a Division One/Senior Cup double in 1994–95 to reach the Premier Division, followed by the Somerset Premier Cup in 1995–96 and Premier Division runners-up in 2002–03 and 2012–13.

After rising travel costs, the club took voluntary relegation from the Western League Premier Division to Division One when a move to the Hellenic Premier was refused. In 2022/23 it won Division One, scored 130 goals and reached the Les Phillips Cup semi-finals, but did not return that season. In 2023/24 the team finished seventh, qualified for the play-offs due to ineligible clubs, then beat Radstock Town 1–0 and Wincanton Town 3–2 to secure promotion back to the Premier Division.
