The FC

Bigggleswade Football Club, nicknamed “The FC,” is a non-league football club based in Cardington, Bedfordshire.

Established in 1970, they currently compete in the Pitching In Southern Football League Division One Central, which is part of the eighth tier of English football. The team calls The Eyrie their home ground.

History

Biggleswade FC, formed in May 2016 from Biggleswade Town’s successful Under 18 side, quickly established itself in English non-league football. In their final youth season (2014/15), they won the Thurlow Nunn Youth League’s Northern Division and the Champions Trophy. Standout player Keinan Davis later signed with Aston Villa.

The following season, after a league restructure, they again clinched the division title and retained the Champions Trophy. Their impressive performance in the FA Youth Cup saw them reach the Second Round Proper.

Transitioning to senior football in 2016, Biggleswade FC joined the Spartan South Midlands Football League Division One (Step 6) after an appeal to the FA. Their inaugural season was a triumph, winning the division with 99 points and securing promotion. They also had a remarkable FA Vase run.

In 2017/18, they reached the last 32 of the FA Vase and finished 5th in their first season at the ninth tier. Their 2018/19 season was outstanding, winning the SSMFL Premier Division, the Premier Division Cup, and the North Beds Charity Cup. Their Reserve team also achieved significant success, winning a league and cup double.

As of the 2019/20 season, the club looked forward to competing in the Southern Football League, marking another step up in their rapid ascent in non-league football.
