History

In the 2017-18 season, Scarborough Athletic FC (Boro) returned to their hometown, marking the occasion with significant fan attendance and a strong competitive spirit. Despite early challenges, the team finished second in their league, earning promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

The following season (2018-19) in the NPL Premier Division saw a promising start for Boro, but fluctuating performances led to a managerial change. Despite a dip in league form, they triumphed in the North Riding Senior Cup and expanded their stadium capacity.

The 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with managerial changes and a disrupted schedule. However, the 2021-22 season marked a historic turnaround under manager Jonathan Greening. Overcoming initial setbacks, Boro secured a playoff position and achieved promotion to the National League North. Additionally, they clinched the North Riding Senior Cup, making it a double victory. Key contributions came from the entire team, notably Bailey Gooda and Luca Colville, alongside dedicated staff and supporters, highlighting a collective effort in this remarkable season.
