Overview

Scarborough Athletic Football Club is an association football club, based in Scarborough, West Yorkshire. Founded 16 years ago in 2007, the team currently compete in the National League North, the 6th tier of English football.

They play their home matches at Flamingo Land Stadium, and are nicknamed "The Seadogs".

The team's playing kit is manufactured by Macron and is made of 100% PET recycled polyester.

History

Following the liquidation of Scarborough FC, Scarborough Athletic was founded as a rebirth of the previous club by a supporters' trust named The Seadog Trust.

They took on the same red kit, nickname, motto and official club logo from the original club.

The club entered the Northern Counties East League Division One (NCEL1) and eventually gained promotion to the Northern Counties East League Premier Division (NCELP).

After two seasons in the NCELP, the club was crowned Champions of The Northern Counties East League Premier Division and was promoted to the Northern Premier League Division One South.

The club competed in the Northern Premier League with the club entered to play in the Northern Premier League Division One North for the 2014-15 season.

In the 2015-16 season, the club reached the final of the Northern Premier League Challenge Cup but finished the season in 20th place.

The 2016-17 season saw the club finish 3rd in the table and for the first time qualification for the play-offs, where they lost 3-1 to Ossett Town in the semi-final.
