Sevenoaks Town Football Club, nicknamed “The Oaks,” is a non-league football club based in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Established in 1883, they currently compete in the Pitching In Isthmian League South East Division, which is part of the eighth tier of English football. The team calls The Bourne Stadium their home ground.
Originally a founding member of the Kent League, the club departed after just one season, returning to competitive football in 2006 following a hiatus of over 110 years. Its first recorded match in 1893 against Royal Arsenal drew more than 1,000 spectators, reflecting strong local support. The club later became a founding member of the Sevenoaks League in 1906 and merged with St John’s United in 1951, winning the Kent Amateur League twice. A major milestone came in 1984 when they became inaugural champions of the reorganised Kent County League. After years in amateur leagues, they advanced to the semi-professional Kent League in 2003, finishing 11th in their debut season.
Participation in senior leagues enabled entries into national competitions, debuting in the FA Vase in 2004-05. Their best FA Cup performance came in 2016-17, reaching the second qualifying round against Chesham. They also competed in the FA Trophy for the first time in 2018-19, securing a victory over Grays Athletic. Under Micky Collins, appointed in 2014, the club achieved promotion to Step 4 after winning the Southern Counties East League in 2017-18. Despite pandemic disruptions, Harry Hudson, who took over in 2021, guided the team to a 13th place finish that season.
In 2022-23, the club enjoyed strong cup runs, including a win over Bath City, but experienced managerial changes during the following season. After Harry Hudson and Mark Dacey’s departures, Marcel Nimani was appointed in June 2024 with only two players remaining from the previous squad. A reserve team was reintroduced under Steve McGinn in the Sevenoaks League Premier Division. The club continues to support a large community of over 1,299 players across men’s, women’s, youth, and Powerchair teams, with Gregg Baxter earning England Development Squad selection. Funding has been secured for the redevelopment of Greatness Park.
