History

Bedfont Sports Club, established in 2002 in Middlesex, quickly progressed from the Hounslow and District League to the Middlesex County Football League (MCFL). The club’s early development involved significant renovations at Hatton Road Recreation Ground, spearheaded by Chairman Dave Reader. By 2004/05, Bedfont Sports had been promoted to the MCFL Premier Division, reaching the Combined Counties League in 2008/09, and later its Premier Division by 2011/12.

Key to their ascent were facility upgrades, including floodlights, a new dressing room, a 3G pitch, and increased seating, making it one of southern England’s top grounds. Bedfont Sports is deeply integrated into the community, fielding 25 junior teams, a girls’ section, two Bedfont Sunday teams, and a first team recently promoted to the Isthmian League. The youth section has been successful, notably in the Isthmian Youth League and winning the Middlesex County Senior Cup.

The club experienced a significant loss with the passing of David Reader in November 2020, a central figure in its establishment and community engagement. His legacy endures through the club’s ongoing focus on youth development and community involvement, supported by dedicated sponsors and volunteers.
