Bedfont Sports Football Club, nicknamed “The Eagles,” is a non-league football club based in Feltham, Hounslow.
Established in 2002, they currently compete in the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division, which is part of the eighth tier of English football. The team calls Bedfont Sports Recreation Ground their home ground.
After securing a lease on the Hatton Road Recreation Ground, the fledgling club refurbished its solitary building into a bar, clubhouse and upstairs changing rooms under the supervision of chairman Dave Reader. The pitches were restored for Saturday and Sunday sides, and the long-standing junior outfit Bedfont Eagles soon joined to create a full youth pathway.
Bedfont Sports spent two seasons in the Hounslow & District League before stepping up to the Middlesex County Football League, reaching its Premier Division in 2005 and earning elevation to the Combined Counties League in 2009. Promotion to that competition’s Premier Division followed in 2012, and continued ground improvements delivered floodlights, new dressing rooms, two 3G surfaces and 750 seats, meeting Step 4 criteria.
Today the club fields 25 junior sides, a girls section, two Sunday teams and an Isthmian League first team. Its youth squad plays in the Isthmian Youth League and lifted the Middlesex County Senior Cup in 2015, with further finals in 2018 and 2019. Volunteers and sponsors underpin operations, and the organisation continues to honour the legacy of grassroots stalwart Dave Reader, who died in November 2020.
