Cray Valley Paper Mills Football Club, nicknamed “The Millers,” is a non-league football club based in Eltham, Greenwich.
Established in 1919, they currently compete in the Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division, which is part of the seventh tier of English football. The team calls The Artic Stadium their home ground.
Playing in green and white, the side quickly lifted the Sidcup & Kent League Division 2 crown and, a year later, Division 1 and the Kent County Junior Cup. It later won the Kent Amateur League Western Section in 1932/33 and finished runners-up in 1936/37 before records fall silent.
South London Alliance titles in 1979/80 and 1980/81 preceded departure from St Pauls Cray and settlement at Badgers Sports Ground in 1998. The club advanced through the Spartan ranks, entered the Kent County League under Mark Edwards and won Division 1 West in 2003 and the Premier Division in 2005. Four London Intermediate Cups and progress at Step 5 included FA Vase and FA Cup debuts and a 2017 London Senior Cup triumph under James Collins.
Kevin Watson’s spell brought sixth place, the 2018/19 Southern Counties East title and an FA Vase final, while Covid-hit Step 4 seasons yielded a first FA Cup First Round. Fifth in 2021/22 earned play-offs; Tommy Osborne’s 2022/23 squad was sixth. Steve McKimm oversaw a landmark 2023/24: Isthmian South East champions with 97 points, Step 3 promotion, an FA Cup replay with Charlton and an FA Trophy run. Ground grading and fourth in the Isthmian Premier followed in 2024/25, ended by an extra-time 4-3 play-off semi-final loss at Dartford.
