Sutton Coldfield Town Football Club, nicknamed “The Royals,” is a non-league football club based in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire.
Established in 1879, they currently compete in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One Midlands, which is part of the eighth tier of English football. The team calls The Domino's Arena their home ground.
The club’s first recorded match was played at Meadow Plat in Sutton Park, where Birmingham won 6–2. It moved to Coles Lane in 1920 and competed in several regional competitions after the Second World War, including the Walsall Senior, Birmingham Combination, Worcester Combination, Midland Combination and West Midlands leagues.
It reached the FA Cup first round in 1980–81, losing 2–0 to Doncaster Rovers before a record crowd of more than 2,200. After joining the Southern League in 1982–83, it was promoted to the Premier Division, relegated the following season and then remained at Step 4. A second FA Cup first-round appearance came at Bolton Wanderers in 1992–93, before the club won the Dr Martins League Cup in 1998–99.
The club won the Birmingham Senior Cup in 2009–10 and gained promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division through the 2014–15 play-offs, having become a company limited by guarantee that season. Relegation followed in 2017–18. Subsequent campaigns included a 2018–19 play-off place, two seasons curtailed by COVID-19 and survival at Step 4 in 2021–22. Cameron Stuart replaced David Stringer in 2023–24 and led the side to a top-ten finish.
