A. F. C. Rushden & Diamonds, nicknamed “The Diamonds,” is a non-league football club based in Rushden, Northamptonshire.
Established in 2011, they currently compete in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One Midlands, which is part of the eighth tier of English football. The team calls Hayden Road Sports Ground their home ground.
Formed by supporters after Rushden & Diamonds ceased operating at the end of 2010–11, the club initially fielded an under-18 side in the Northants Senior Youth League. It became a Community Benefit Society with one vote for each member, then agreed a ground-sharing partnership with Wellingborough Town at the Dog & Duck Ground before introducing a senior team.
The senior side entered the United Counties League Division One in 2012–13 and earned promotion as runners-up in its first season. It won the United Counties Premier Division and knockout cup double in 2014–15, then reached the Southern League Division One Central play-off final and won the Northants Senior Cup the following season. After another play-off appearance in the Northern Premier League Division One South, it moved to Hayden Road Sports Ground in 2017 and gained promotion to Step 3 in 2017–18.
Competing in the Southern League Premier Central, the club finished ninth in its first Step 3 season. It remained near the play-off places until the 2019–20 campaign was curtailed by COVID-19, while the following season was also left incomplete. The side finished sixth in 2021–22 after Andy Peaks departed and Andy Burgess was appointed manager.
