History

Torquay United appointed Gary Johnson as their new manager in 2019, and his impact was immediate.

After a record-breaking ten match winning streak, United secured the championship title and promotion back to the National League at the first attempt.

Two years later, Johnson's men went close to a return to the Football League but narrowly missed out in the Play-Off Final.

Despite this disappointment, the club is now in better shape than it has been for many years, giving Torquay United's fans a lot of optimism for the future.
