Torquay United AFC is an association football club, based in Torquay, Devon. Founded 124 years ago in 1899, the team currently compete in the National League, the 5th tier of English football.
They play their home matches at Plainmoor, and are nicknamed "The Gulls".
The team's playing kit is manufactured by Puma and is made of 100% double knit polyester.
Torquay United appointed Gary Johnson as their new manager in 2019, and his impact was immediate.
After a record-breaking ten match winning streak, United secured the championship title and promotion back to the National League at the first attempt.
Two years later, Johnson's men went close to a return to the Football League but narrowly missed out in the Play-Off Final.
Despite this disappointment, the club is now in better shape than it has been for many years, giving Torquay United's fans a lot of optimism for the future.
