Taunton Town Football Club is an association football club, based in Taunton, Somerset. Founded 76 years ago in 1947, the team currently compete in the National League South, the 6th tier of English football.

They play their home matches at Cygnet Stadium, and are nicknamed "The Peacocks".

History

Taunton Town Football Club was formed in 1947, playing on a number of grounds before settling at Wordsworth Drive in 1953.

They joined the Western League in 1968 and won the championship for the first time in 1969.

They became a limited company in 1981 and were elected to the Southern League in 1977.

Notably, the team reached the F A Vase Final in 1994 and won the F A Carlsberg Vase final in 2001.

They won the Somerset Premier Cup in 2003, 2014, 2015 and 2017, won the Western Division title in 2017-18 to gain promotion to the Southern Premier and were crowned champions of the Southern Premier South in 2021-22 to gain promotion to the National League South for the first time in their history.
