Overview
Gloucester City AFC is an association football club, based in Hempsted, Gloucestershire. Founded 140 years ago in 1883, the team currently compete in the National League North, the 6th tier of English football.
They play their home matches at New Meadow Park, and are nicknamed "The Tigers".

Coleman wrote a letter to the Editor of The Citizen in 1883, which led to the formation of Gloucester Association Football Club.
The club disbanded in 1886, but was re-formed in 1889 by two enthusiasts.
The club became known as Gloucester City in 1902, and became founder members of the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League in 1925.
In 1934-35 they turned semi-professional and joined the Birmingham Combination.
In 1964 they moved to the Horton Road Stadium, and in 1986 to Meadow Park.
In 2007 Meadow Park was flooded, and the club was forced to move grounds for two seasons before returning home to TigerTurf Stadium in 2020.
