Haringey Borough Football Club, nicknamed “The Borough,” is a non-league football club based in Tottenham, London.
Established in 1970, they currently compete in the Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division, which is part of the seventh tier of English football. The team calls Coles Park their home ground.
History
Haringey Borough Football Club, was formed in 1973 from the merger of Edmonton and Wood Green Town, originally named Edmonton & Haringey. They began in the Athenian League’s Division One and became Haringey Borough in 1976 after a tough season. The club struggled in the Athenian League, eventually finishing bottom in 1981-82. With the Athenian League’s dissolution in 1984, Haringey joined the Isthmian League Division Two North.
In 1988-89, after losing many players and management, the club left the Isthmian League and joined the Spartan League’s Premier Division. They won the London Senior Cup in 1990-91. In 1995, the club briefly became Tufnell Park, reverting to Haringey Borough a year later. Following a league merger in 1997, they played in the Spartan South Midlands League’s Premier Division.
Relegated from the Premier Division in 2006-07, Haringey Borough quickly bounced back, becoming Division One runners-up and winning the Division One Cup the next season. They secured the league’s Challenge Trophy in 2011-12 and moved to the Essex Senior League. The club achieved success in the 2014-15 season, winning the Essex Senior League and gaining promotion to the Isthmian League Division One North.
